Willy Barber – Bass, VocalsWilly Barber

Willy Barber plays the expletive out of the bass, while he's equally at home arranging, producing, or writing for an orchestra. Willy has toured and performed with a list of “who’s who” – Red Rodney, Dan Aykroyd, Kiefer Sutherland, Jim Belushi, Tom Arnold, Steve Miller, Curtis Salgado, Jimmie Vaughan, Sonny Landreth, Trilok Gurtu, Buddy Rich, Carmen Cavellero, Bobby Shew, Ndugu Chancellor, the Glenn Miller Band, Tony Furtado, Pia Zadora, Howard Tate, Roger Fisher (Heart), Duffy Bishop, the Lily Wilde Big Band, the Blubinos, and Chuck Berry, to name just a few. Willy has played on over 30 recordings for artists all over the world. Meanwhile he’s also made regular stops at places like NPR’s Mountain Stage, Montreux, Newport and the North Sea Festivals, alongside some of the world’s finest jazz musicians. As a songwriter, his work has been recorded by the likes of Curtis Salgado and Duffy Bishop. Willy co-produced Curtis Salgado's CD Strong Suspicion, which featured Sonny Landreth and Jimmie Vaughan. Seeing Willy Barber off-leash as a soloist is a jaw-dropping experience. Willy is one of the best of the best, and Portland is lucky to have him.
